Until the End of Time is the second Tupac solo album to be posthumous released. It 2Pac’s forth posthumus release when including the 2Pac: Greatest Hits compilation release, and the Still I Rise album with his rap group The Outlawz. Until The End of Time was released on March 27, 2001 on Amaru Entertainment & Death Row Records, through Interscope Records.
This album is the first release of two double album’s which consisted of unreleased material and remixed songs from Tupac’s “Makaveli” period (1995-1996) whilst he was signed to Death Row Records. The next double album containing songs from the same period of his career came as the next 2Pac release – 2002′s Better Dayz album. Most of the tracks on the album were remixed from their original master tape versions. Suge Knight and Afeni Shakur were the executive producers of this album, with ten of the songs being produced by longtime Tupac producer and friend Johnny “J”.
The album spawned two singles, Until the End of Time, and Letter 2 My Unborn. Until the End of Time was the first single to be released from the album on February 18, 2001. The song was very successful and was a big contributor to the album been certified 3x Platinum in the US by the RIAA. The original version of the song was produced by Johnny “J” with the production on the remix by Trackmasters. The song’s beat is a sample of Mr. Mister’s 1985 #1 song “Broken Wings”. The music video for the song contains a compilation of unreleased footage of Tupac………….
