Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. Album Info: (from HipHopDOA.com)
Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. is Tupac Amaru Shakur’s second studio album. Similar to 2Pac’s debut album, 2Pacalypse Now, the album contains many tracks emphasizing 2Pac’s political and social views. The album was originally going to be named “Troublesome 21″, with 21 referring to Tupac’s age at the time, but eventually they opted for Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., with “N.I.G.G.A.Z.” standing for “Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished”.
The album debuted at #24 on the Billboard 200 chart and also at #4 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart, which meant this album saw more commercial success than its predecessor. The album also spawned the hits “Keep Ya Head Up” and “I Get Around”. Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. was certified Gold by the RIAA on September 24, 1993 for it’s shipments in the USA alone. The album was then certified platinum status by the RIAA in April 1995. Although the album was originally released on Interscope, since Tupac’s death – the rights now belong to Amaru Entertainment, the label owned by Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur.
As is the case with many of Tupac’s albums there was a lot of recordings for this album that were unused tracks, most of which have been released on his posthumus albums. Seven tracks that were originally recorded for this album were later released on his R U Still Down (Remember Me) album. Upon there eventual release all tracks recieved “tweaking” or remixing of some kind. Such tracks include 16 on Death Row (Tweaked Original Version On R U Still Down?), When I Get Free (remixed on R U Still
Down?), Suka 4 Luv (remixed and renamed “Do For Love” on R U Still Down?), Nothin But Love (Released on the I Get Around single as a B-side track, the tweaked original version is on R U Still Down?), I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto (Released as a B-side track on Keep Ya Head Up single 1993, Remixed On R U Still Down?)
“Changes“, arguably Tupac’s most famous track was also recorded around the time of this album and was titled “Changes ’92″. The track was later remixed and it’s title was changed to simply “Changes” and was included on 2Pac Greatest Hits…..
