Still I Rise Info: (from HipHopDOA.com)
Still I Rise is an album by 2Pac and his rap group The Outlawz, excluding member Hussein Fatal. Fatal left the group because the other Outlawz decided signed to Death Row Records, after Tupac had said not to (Amaru Entertainment was an option to Fatal); Napoleon would soon follow him out of the group. The album was released on December 14, 1999 through Amaru Ent, Death Row, and Interscope Records.
This album is the third 2Pac album to be released after his death, however it is only the second to be finished without the creative input of 2Pac. Having left a large body of work behind, this was the also the second release from his mother’s new imprint Amaru Entertainment, which she had set up to control her son’s posthumous releases. The album is the first, and as yet only album to be released by “2Pac & Outlawz” as even though the group feature heavily on almost all other 2pac album’s, all are credited as solo albums by 2Pac himself. As well as the Outlawz, other artists who had worked with Tupac whislt he was alive also make a guest appearance including Big Syke, Val Young, and Nate Dogg.
The album contains all previously unreleased material, albeit remixed material, and also features production from 2Pac’s close producers Johnny J and QD III. The album spawned only one single, with “Baby Don’t Cry (Keep Ya Head Up II)” been released on March 28, 2000 – a few months after the album was released. The song features H.E.A.T., E.D.I. Mean & Young Noble aswell as vocals from Brandy. It was the only song from the album to have a music video. It charted at #72 on the Billboard Hot 100. The original version of the song is rumored to have a beat that is similar to “Keep Ya Head Up” but it is yet to have leaked…………..
