R U Still Down? (Remember Me) Info: (from HipHopDOA.com)
R U Still Down? (Remember Me) is the first posthumous 2Pac album, released on November 25, 1997. Although it is the second album release after his death, it is the first to be finished without the creative input of 2Pac. His previous album, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, was released almost two months after his death, on November 5th, 1996, but it is not a true posthumous album in the way that the later 2Pac albums are, since he completed the album before his death.
Having left a large body of work behind, R U Still Down? (Remember Me) was the first release from his mother’s new imprint Amaru Entertainment, set up to control Tupac’s posthumous releases. The album contains previously unreleased material coming from the time period of 1992 to 1994
whilst Tupac was recording his Interscope albums Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., Thug Life: Volume 1, and Me Against the World. Although they are original unreleased recordings from Tupac’s vast vault of unreleased material, several tracks on the album have had backing musical tracks “reconstructed”.
The album was highly anticipated before it’s release which showed in it’s early sales figuers, with the album shifting 549,000 copies it’s first week of sales. Such strong sales helped the album hit #1 in the USA on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and peak at #2 on the Billboard 200 Albu…………..
