2Pac Greatest Hits Info: (from HipHopDOA.com)
Greatest Hits is a 2Pac double disc Greatest Hits album, released by Death Row Records and Amaru Entertainment on November 24, 1998. The album’s tracklist highlights 2Pac’s music with powerful selections from his entire recording career–except 1997′s “R U Still Down? (Remember Me)” double album. The album boasts 21 of his most popular hits, some slightly re-edited for legal reasons, accompanied by four previously unreleased songs: “God Bless the Dead“, “Unconditional Love“, “Troublesome ’96“, and “Changes“, which has since become one of 2Pac’s best known songs. The songs featured on the album are recordings by Tupac in the years of 1991 to 1996.
Greatest Hits was a huge commercial success and on March 2, 1999, the album was certified as 5x platinum in sales, by the RIAA. At the time this made 2Pac’s double-disc Greatest Hits album the highest-certified hits anthology by any rap artist.
Since then, the album has been certified by the RIAA as 9x platinum on Oct 16, 2000, and years later the album became Tupac’s first to go 10x Platinum when the RIAA certified the album DIAMOND status on June 23, 2011. This meant that the album had now passed Tupac’s 9x Platinum album All Eyez on Me to become his biggest selling album to date according to the RIAA. Upon it’s release the album performed well in US charts, hitting #1 on the US Top R&B/Rap Albums charts and also debuting at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart shifting an impressive 268,000 units in …………..
